Hi Alan That is just brilliant. Love it! Again, it brings back great memories for me as we were lucky enough to watch a platypus at close range up in Kingfisher Park in Queensland. These videos are great quality and the music is the icing on the cake.
Excellent video, Mosura. It is surprising how fast the Platypus swims. At the end, it was probably going to its burrow, near the bank, protected by fallen logs. Great work. Denis
Thanks Denis - Actually I think it's just leaving the site of it's burrow. It came ashore just to the left of that scene. As it was in the shadows I did not see it at first then I suddenly noticed it was on the bank. By the time I got the camera back on it, the platypus has gone back into the river and swam quite a way down stream.
Such a great idea to upload videos as well as photos! How do you decide which camera to use? If I had two, I would probably suffer from terrible outbursts of hesitation :D Great video of the Platipus!
Thanks Tilcheff - "outbursts of hesitation" - yes that the problem. It happened today when two Wedge-tails flew over head. I ended up with a three second video of the sky and some badly exposed photos of the eagles.
what time of day was it when you filmed the platypus? i heard they are most active at dusk but have recently spotted one in the creek on our property and seem to see it mostly in the mid afternoon.
