Soldier Beetle - Chauliognathus lugubris

Nectar Scarab - Phyllotocus rufipennis
Feeding on the nectar of Manuka

Leaf Beetle - Paropsis sp

Common Spotted Ladybird - Harmonia conformis and eggs
The eggs were laid in batches on the bark of my Nectarine tree.
Which one's Ringo? (-: Lovely shots. I was looking at the first one, thinking, that body doesn't look in proportion to the wing size and then I saw the second photo. Beetles are FAB!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenny - I think Ringo is the Nectar Scarab. It seems to have the biggest nose anyway :-) (Not that beetles actually have noses)
ReplyDeleteManuka and nectarines! It's a combo to attract me. Must be plenty of bees amid the beetles.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tony - Yep - the bees have long since fertilised the nectarines and are now busily producing manuka honey.
